HISTORY
!684. There is no information about the original architecture of the residential building Lossiplats 5, which was destroyed in the massive fire of 2008. By 1687, it had been rebuilt by the then owner, Captain Bernhard Lode. Thus, in later construction activities, old walls and structures were largely used. The plinth floor has a vault and rooms covered with beamed ceilings. There are also vaulted ceilings in the building along Piiskop street. The interior has preserved a lot of 18-19. century architectural details. The classic exterior of the main building, which has survived to this day, dates back to the second half of the 18th century. Belonging to Lode at the beginning of the 18th century, Lossiplats 5 then passed into the possession of the Wrangels. Around 1738, the property belonged to the court judge of that name, and in 1761 Mr. assessor v. to Wrangel.
From 1785, the male judge Jakob Johann v. is known as the owner. Haute, in 1809 the house is referred to v- Wrangeli and in 1834 around v. Baranoff. The oldest elevation drawing of this building was made in 1823. It looks practically identical to the well-known Tallinn facade layout of 1825.
